For the most part, the Nederland area has had minimal impact from flooding, primarily because we are upstream from the Boulder Canyon Floods. Check with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management (Boulder OEM) for up to date information on the floods below.
Almost all roads in, or out of, Nederland have been closed from rock slides, or roads being washed out from erosion. So, as long as you plan to stay in Nederland, things will be pleasant.
The Nederland Community Center has been used as an Emergency Red Cross Evacuation Center and shelter for folks in need. Volunteers have been at the Community Center 24/7, the kitchen is open, and we have food and clean water. Tonight, Kim Culver is cooking a FREE Dinner as well. Donations will also be accepted at the Community Center.
The Fitness Place is closed because it had flooded, due to the typical groundwater issues that we have had at this site before. It is in the process of being cleaned-up.
Kayla Evans and the Backdoor Theater will be making a special gift to the Nederland area townspeople tonight. The movie will be free!
Tonight, the film will be Lee Daniels' box office hit, "The Butler".
